SunSpaces Showroom

If you're interested in our garden rooms, but you'd like to take a closer look at what we have to offer before you make any purchasing decisions, then we strongly recommend a visit to one of our outdoor living showrooms. We have locations in both South Wales and St Albans, making us easily accessible from most places in England and Wales.

Why visit your nearest SunSpaces showroom?

Because, to quote Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, there ain't nothing like the real thing! We think we've done a pretty good job of showing off our products here on the SunSpaces website, but things like garden rooms and veranda really must be seen in the flesh (or, indeed, the metal) in order to properly appreciate their appeal.

Visiting your local SunSpaces showroom will also allow you to speak with us face-to-face. Garden rooms are really just the start of what we're able to offer our customers; we do our best to provide a completely holistic outdoor living service, and we'd love to discuss our various other products - including our garden furniture and outdoor flooring options - with you in person. If you're interested, we can even start putting together a 3D design of your garden room!

How to find us

Getting to your local SunSpaces showroom is easy - click here for directions to our showroom in South Wales, or click here for directions to our St Albans location. Alternatively, call 029 2037 1575 to speak with a member of the SunSpaces team.
Garden room with sliding walls

If you're thinking of adding one of our garden rooms to your property, you'll probably want to see a few pictures before you make your mind up. Here are some choice snaps from the SunSpaces photo gallery:

Here's an elegant image with which to get the ball rolling - the sliding glass walls give this room a seamless and modern look that's very appealing indeed.

Of course, you don't have to have sliding walls if you don't want to - this fixed panel garden room looks exceptionally stylish in its own right, giving its owner a comfortable, attractive place in which to sit and survey the garden proper.

If you so desire, your garden room doesn't even have to be attached to your house. Our detached garden rooms make spectacularly modern standalone features, and you may find that, by distancing your SunSpace from the property itself, you create for yourself a peaceful retreat where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of domestic life.

Everything you need to know about our gorgeous Garden Rooms!

We think that our Garden Rooms largely speak for themselves; easy to build and even easier on the eyes, they make a wonderful addition to any property and enable you to spend much more time in your outdoor living space.

However, we appreciate that you may have a few questions to ask before you commit to purchasing a Garden Room of your own, and we'd like to do whatever we can to answer them and put your mind at ease. To that end, here are the answers to some of the questions we're always being asked...

Q: What is a garden room?
A: A garden room is an outdoor structure that can be either built against the outer wall of your property or detached as a standalone feature. Our garden rooms are available with either sliding walls or fixed panels; either way, your garden room will allow you to get a lot more from your outdoor space, keeping you warm, dry and comfortable even when the weather is bad.

Examples of our garden rooms

Q: What's the difference between a garden room and a veranda?
A: Simply put, a garden room has walls/windows while a veranda is open-sided. Click below to learn more about our verandas.

Q: Can I install a SunSpaces Garden Room myself?
A: Yes! Our Garden Rooms come with instructional DVDs and clear assembly guidelines, so you should find it easy to construct your new extension without any professional help. However, we do have an in-house installation team who will be more than happy to do the work for you if that's what you'd prefer.

Q: Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
A: No, except in certain circumstances. As a general rule, planning permission is only required if you live in a conservation area or a listed building, or if your garden room would cross a property border. You may wish to check with your local planning authority before purchasing a garden room, just to make sure.

Q: What sizes are available?
A: Our Garden Rooms come in several 'standard' sizes, but we can provide bespoke solutions if your project goes beyond our usual dimensions. Feel free to contact us below for further details.

Q: What colours do SunSpaces offer?
A: We offer three colours as standard: Graphite Grey, Cream, and White. A wide range of alternative RAL colours is available for a small additional charge.

Q: How much does a Garden Room cost?
A: This depends on the size of your garden room, as well as on several other variables. Email info@sunspaces.co.uk to get a free, no-obligation quotation for your extension.

Garden lounges

Is your living room letting you down? Do you wish you had a brighter, more beautiful space in which to spend your spare time? In that case, a SunSpaces garden lounge could be the perfect solution for you - our stunning structures are easy to build, they come in a variety of styles and colours, and they generally require no planning permission whatsoever!

If you need a bit of outdoor inspiration for your new garden lounge, here are some ideas and suggestions from the SunSpaces website. If you'd like to chat with our team and discuss your project further, feel free to contact us!

This gorgeous garden lounge has a set of sliding glass walls, and this really helps to break down the barrier that separates indoors from out. On warm days, the doors slide open to let the sunshine in; when the weather is poor, they can be kept shut whilst still giving the room a bright, airy feel. Those armchairs look comfy, too!

This veranda has room for both a lounge area and a dining space, both of which are protected from the elements by the stylish glass roof.

It's worth remembering that our verandas don't have to be attached to your property. Many customers choose a detached veranda instead; if you want a peaceful, comfortable retreat at the far end of your garden, this could well be the choice for you!

A garden room makes a fine addition to practically any property. If you're unsure as to whether or not a garden room could benefit your home, well, allow us to tip the scales a little - here are 5 great reasons to add one ASAP!

1. Extend your living space.

By adding a SunSpace to your property, you're effectively adding an extra room to your house. This room can be used pretty much however you please - for example, as a dining room, a lounge, a playroom for the kids, or something else entirely! The sky's the limit!

2. Get more from your garden.

If you live in Britain, your garden is probably a frigid no-go zone from October to March. A garden room will allow you to enjoy your outdoor space even in colder months - SunSpaces are usable practically all year 'round, as this diagram shows:

It's all the pleasure of being in the garden without the unpleasantness of being cold!

3. Save yourself the hassle of a conservatory.

Adding a garden room to your property achieves almost exactly the same effect as adding a conservatory, and yet a garden room is significantly more cost-effective than any conservatory or orangery. It's also easier to install - planning permission is almost never required, and all SunSpaces products are supplied with instructional DVDs that allow you to build your new outdoor retreat without any professional assistance!

(Of course, if you would prefer your garden room to be installed by a professional, we do offer a full installation service throughout the UK.)

4. Create more storage space.

Starting to run out of room in your house? No need for a clear-out - the addition of a SunSpaces garden room will increase your home's storage space significantly! And don't worry about your property going missing, because our sunrooms are exceptionally secure, with lockable doors and toughened glass to prevent break-ins.

5. Increase the value of your home.

If you ever decide to up sticks and move to a new home, you should find that your garden room noticeably increases the value of the property you're trying to sell. After all, what discerning home buyer wouldn't want the extra space and versatility afforded by a SunSpaces structure?

Benefits of Garden Verandas by Sunspaces

1. Protection Against the Elements

One of the main advantages of a garden veranda is its ability to provide shelter from the unpredictable weather. Whether it's shielding you from the rain, blocking harsh UV rays, or offering a cozy retreat on chilly evenings, a glass veranda allows you to maximize your outdoor enjoyment in any season.

2. Stylish and Customizable Designs

Sunspaces offers a variety of customizable verandas that cater to different architectural styles. With options in aluminum, glass, and wood finishes, you can choose a design that complements your home and enhances your garden's visual appeal.

3. Increase in Property Value

Adding a classic glass veranda can significantly boost the value of your home. Prospective buyers appreciate the added outdoor living space, making your property more attractive in the real estate market.

4. Versatility and Functionality

Garden verandas serve multiple purposes, from an outdoor dining area to a cozy lounge space. They can also be used for entertaining guests, as a workspace, or even as a mini greenhouse for plant lovers.

5. Low Maintenance and Durability

Sunspaces uses high-quality materials like powder-coated aluminum and tempered glass, ensuring long-lasting durability with minimal maintenance requirements.

How to Choose the Perfect Garden Veranda

  1. Assess Your Space: Measure the available area and determine the best location for your veranda.

  2. Consider the Purpose: Define how you plan to use the veranda—whether for relaxation, dining, or as an extension of your living space.

  3. Choose the Right Materials: Opt for materials that match your home's exterior and provide longevity.

  4. Customization Options: Look into additional features like integrated lighting, heating, or Innovative Sliding Roof Veranda for an enhanced experience.

  5. Budget Considerations: Set a realistic budget and explore financing options if needed.

How to Choose Stunning Garden Room Furniture

Stunning garden rooms deserve equally stunning furniture, don't you think? After all, a room is nothing until it's been furnished, and we at Sunspaces want to make sure that the garden room we give you is as good as it can possibly be!

That's why our service doesn't just stop with the Sunspaces itself. We also have a great collection of garden room furniture to choose from, guaranteeing that every element of your new room will be of the same high standard as the structure itself. Our furniture is designed and produced by Alexander Rose, one of Britain's best manufacturers and a market leader in weatherproof outdoor design.

Alexander Rose furniture is made using an array of attractive-yet-durable materials, including timber, rattan, and stainless steel. All of their products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, which means that you can take your garden room furniture outside without worrying about what might happen if the weather turns bad!

Our Alexander Rose garden room furniture collection was selected with appearance as well as practicality in mind. Each piece has a bold, contemporary design that nonetheless stays true to traditional British style; this means that, no matter what kind of look you're going for, the furniture we offer is sure to suit your needs.

Once you have your beautiful garden veranda, selecting the right furniture is essential to create a comfortable and stylish outdoor space. Here are some expert tips on choosing the perfect garden room furniture:

1. Determine Your Garden Room Style

Before buying furniture, decide on the style you want for your garden room. Whether it's modern, rustic, bohemian, or classic, having a theme in mind will help you choose pieces that complement the space.

2. Prioritize Comfort and Functionality

Invest in high-quality seating with plush cushions for maximum comfort. Consider ergonomically designed chairs and sofas to ensure relaxation while spending time outdoors.

3. Opt for Weather-Resistant Materials

Outdoor furniture should be durable enough to withstand different weather conditions. Popular materials include:

  • Rattan & Wicker: Stylish and lightweight, perfect for cozy settings.

  • Teak & Hardwood: Known for durability and resistance to rain.

  • Aluminum & Metal: Rust-resistant and ideal for modern designs.

  • Resin & Plastic: Low-maintenance and affordable options.

4. Consider Space-Saving Solutions

If you have a smaller garden room, opt for foldable or stackable furniture. Multi-purpose items like storage benches or extendable tables can help maximize space.

5. Incorporate Stylish Accessories

Enhance the ambiance of your garden room with:

  • Outdoor Rugs: Add warmth and texture.

  • Decorative Pillows: Introduce color and comfort.

  • Fairy Lights & Lanterns: Create a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

  • Planters & Greenery: Bring in nature with potted plants and vertical gardens.

6. Choose a Color Palette

Select colors that match your garden surroundings and veranda theme. Neutral tones with pops of vibrant colors create a balanced and elegant look.

7. Maintenance and Longevity

Consider ease of cleaning and maintenance when selecting furniture. Removable cushion covers, UV-resistant finishes, and easy-to-clean surfaces will help keep your furniture looking fresh for years.

8. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Choices

For an environmentally conscious option, choose furniture made from sustainable materials like bamboo, reclaimed wood, or recycled plastics.

By carefully selecting your garden room furniture, you can transform your veranda into a stylish and functional retreat, perfect for unwinding, socializing, or working outdoors.
