Outdoor SunSpaces News

Spring is here, which means that it's time to shake up your garden room decoration and get it ready for the bright mornings and warmer nights! To give you a few ideas, here are 5 more lovely home pieces to decorate your garden room:

Hudson 8 Hole Flower Flute From Precious Home

There is no better way to hail the arrival of warmer weather, than by adding a beautiful selection of fresh flowers to your home. If you're looking for an alternative to the traditional vase, why not invest in something more unusual, like this beautiful multi-hole flute? With individual openings for you to add each flower individually, this glass vase allows you to create a beautiful layout with your chosen flowers, with almost no effort at all!

Pineapple Bookends From Joy Home Boutique

These pineapple bookends mix traditional and modern design together for a sunning end result, giving you a practical addition to your home with a nod to tropical summer prints. They also add a very on-trend vibe to your garden room, by making use of the popular metallic trend that's sweeping through all aspects of home design at the moment.

Owl Pouffe From Orwell and Goode

We love the retro colours used to create this beautiful stool, and think it would make the perfect addition to any garden room. The owl design is also great for adding another element of nature to your space, and would be lovely if you were using your garden room as a play space for your children.

Zig Zag Votives From Posh Totty

Candles aren't just for winter! Give them a bright springtime twist with these colourful holders, each with their own unique colour scheme. The zig-zag pattern subtly incorporates elements of the geometric trend, while the blue colour scheme hints at waves for a sweet nod to summer seaside trips.

If you're thinking of hosting an Easter tea party in your garden room, or if you're simply looking for some pretty tableware, these stunning teacup sets would be the perfect addition to your dining set! With pretty gold details, these cups come in a choice of three colours, two of which are classic pastel shades.

Contemporary Garden Room

Sadly, garden rooms sometimes gain a bad reputation in the home design world, due to the fact that when poorly executed, they can do more to distract from your property than to enhance it. At SunSpaces, we go to great lengths to ensure this is never the case with any of our designs, ensuring that all of our contemporary garden rooms are tailored to perfectly compliment both your indoor and outdoor space.

When planning your garden room, we will do our very best to ensure that all elements are taken into consideration, in order to incorporate this new detail seamlessly with the rest of your home. We will take all of your requirements into consideration, putting our vision and your ideas together to create a space that is both attractive and comfortable, ensuring that the aesthetic of your home is enhanced and improved.

Unlike other garden rooms, our SunSpace designs are intended to extend the existing beauty of your home. We don't see the process as 'adding on an extra', in our opinion, there should be as little disconnect between the new and existing elements of your home as possible. While you may want the space to have a unique feel, or to offer a different experience from the rest of your home, you should be able to create this without causing the area to seem mismatched or forced.

The garden rooms that we sell here at SunSpaces have a clean, contemporary look that we personally consider to be rather a big selling point. However, the way in which you choose to decorate your garden room is entirely up to you - you don't have to feel bound to the modern, minimal look that we've discussed previously, and if your tastes favour charming vintage decor over slicker, newer stuff, then your SunSpace will still make a superb canvas for your interior design ideas.

Here are five vintage items that we think would look fabulous in one of our garden rooms:

Vintage Mirror

Dorneywood Mirror

We'll start with this beautiful free-standing mirror. The gently weathered design is sure to appeal to fans of vintage decor, and it would look fabulous in any SunSpaces garden room (particularly a white one!)

Vintage Chair
Louis Vintage Script Chair
(from Wayfair)

This beautiful chair looks like it was just shipped in from eighteenth-century Paris. Like the Dorneywood Mirror (see above), it would look particularly perfect inside one of our white garden structures.

Vintage coffee table

OH Vintage Voyager Trunk/Coffee Table
(from Houseology)

This is really two items in one. When the trunk is open, it's a handy storage unit with a stunning map design on the inside; when closed, it serves as a charming and useful coffee table.

Vintage plant pot

Round Vintage Planters

Every room looks better with a bit of greenery, and these gorgeous vintage plant pots will suit your vintage-themed garden room perfectly.

Newgate Knightsbridge Wall Clock

Finally, nothing ties a room together quite like an attractive vintage-style clock. This one ticks all the right boxes: roman numerals, ornate hands, and an ever-so-slightly-weathered look that will go wonderfully with all the other items we've mentioned today.

We're big fans of minimalism here at SunSpaces; the less-is-more look really appeals to us, and we think that our sleek garden rooms are perfect for such designs.

Minimal garden room

Minimalism - by its very nature - doesn't require all that much in the way of accessorising, but if you are thinking of trying a minimal design in your own garden room, here are 5 items that we think will suit your needs perfectly:

Black floor lamp
Chrome Floor Lamp with Black Shade
This striking black floor lamp is perfect for a minimal design scheme, and it's bound to look brilliant in your SunSpaces garden room.

Black lamp
Black Flower Pot Table Lamp
(from BLT Direct)
If, on the other hand, you'd prefer a lamp that's small enough to put on a table, then this bold little number will do the trick rather nicely!

Minimal pillowcase
Marimekko Unikko Pillowcase
(from Amara)
This pillowcase pattern has a beautiful, almost Japanese appearance - use it on the cushions in your minimal sunroom design for comfortable, stylish results!

White coffee table
Mike White Coffee Table
Straight lines are a staple of any minimal design, and this pretty white coffee table uses straight lines to create a very arresting piece of furniture. It would also make the perfect home for your flower pot table lamp (see above!)

Black rug
Nordic Cariboo Rug
(from Just a Rug)
Finally, this simple black rug will add the perfect finish to your minimal garden room and provide a bit of extra comfort underfoot.

SunSpaces garden room

The garden is a colourful place, and we think that our garden rooms should be just the same! Here are some fabulous accessories from around the web that we think would look absolutely amazing inside our SunSpaces:

Vintage floor light
Eglo Vintage Mint Tripod Floor Light
(from DuskLights.co.uk)
While we usually tend towards contemporary designs here at SunSpaces, we do love the occasional vintage find. This lovely mint-coloured tripod lamp has a certain old-fashioned beauty, but we think that the colour and the design would look right at home in a modern living space, too!

Personalised planters
Personalised Planter Crates
Flowers are an obvious means of adding colour to your garden room, but why not go one step further and plant your seeds in a container that's every bit as colourful as the flowers themselves? These beautiful crates are available in a variety of different colours, and you can personalise them with any message you want!

Contemporary Artwork
(piece above from MackenzieThorpe.net)
A great way to make your garden room look brighter, livelier, and even more modern! We are a big fan of Mackenzie Thorpe's work, but don't worry if the painting above isn't to your tastes - there's a whole world of wonderful artwork to choose from, and thousands of different canvases that would look great in our garden rooms!

Pixel Rug
Sticking with the contemporary theme...feast your eyes on this magnificent rug! It's the perfect piece of home decor for gamers, geeks, and 21st century homeowners of all stripes. If added colour is what you're after, you can't go far wrong with this bright little number!

Patterned Floor Cushions
Finally, we come to these beautiful cushions - we think that their floral patterns would suit the outdoorsy feel of a garden room perfectly. Bonus points if you get one with pom-poms around the edge!
