Outdoor SunSpaces News

Although carports appear to leave your car open to the elements, evidence suggests that parking your car under a carport can prevent your vehicle from frosting over, even in minus temperatures. Carports also protect your car from heavy snowfall that can damage the finish of your vehicle over time.

By investing in a carport, you can shed valuable time off your winter morning routine because you won’t have to rush out of bed early to defrost the car!

The Science Behind the Carport?

When you go outside on a cold night, you’ll notice that you lose heat from your body very quickly. The same thing is happening to your car that’s parked outside.

When your car gets below a certain temperature, water condenses out of the air onto it and freezes causing frost. If your car is parked under a carport the roof of the carport will radiate some heat down onto the surface of your car, preventing water from the air condensing and freezing onto your windshield.

As temperatures plummet, garden rooms, verandas and extensions are often abandoned for the cosy indoors. We think this is a great shame and it doesn’t have to be the case! We can make your sunspace just as comfortable as your living room with our outdoor heaters.

Outdoor Heaters from SunSpaces

Here at SunSpaces, we have a range of outdoor heaters, including Model 8 shown above. This model is excellent if you love to host guests in the winter months. It’s remote controlled, has built-in App/Bluetooth capabilities, speakers and LED’s for ambient lighting. Click here to find out more.

We think that these outdoor heaters would make an excellent Christmas gift for someone who isn’t currently utilising their outdoor space throughout the winter. Why not treat someone to this Model 5 heater? It’s remote controlled and has an excellent range of 20mᵌ.

These heaters are compatible with most of SunSpaces’ outdoor structures. Garden rooms

SunSpaces customers have a near-infinite range of different options to choose from when purchasing their garden rooms, but one of the biggest choices you'll have to make before you install your new outdoor retreat is whether to choose fixed panels and sliding doors.

What are fixed panels?

Fixed-panel garden rooms have fixed windows and standard doors which open outwards from the structure itself. These structures are extremely secure, and many people feel that the 'framed' look is better suited to more traditional outdoor designs. We offer three standard colours here at SunSpaces (Graphite Grey, Cream, and White), but customised RAL colours are available too, allowing you to match your garden structure to the colour of your property.

What are sliding walls?

If you wish to achieve a more modern appearance with your SunSpaces garden room, you may prefer our 'sliding wall' option. These structures have glass walls which double as sliding doors - you can slide them open to let the sunshine in, and close them when the weather gets colder. Sliding wall garden rooms are ideal for creating a seamless transition between your home and your garden.

If you'd like any further information about your side panelling options, don't hesitate to give a member of our SunSpaces team a call. They will happily talk through the ideas you have for your project and be able to offer their advice on the right style of side panelling for you!

If you work from home, you might find it hard to distinguish between your home and working life. Fresh air and natural light really help to sustain a good mood over the course of a working day so why not move your office into a SunSpace Garden Room or Verandas?

Why add a garden office?

There are all kinds of reasons to get your work done in a garden room instead of in the living room, sat up to the dining table, or - heaven forbid - in bed. These include:

More natural light. Natural light has a very positive effect on one's brain and overall health compared to artificial lighting. It's even been suggested that exposing workers to natural light improves their performance. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of your garden while you work!

Fresh air. Want to let some fresh air into your workspace? If your workspace is a garden room, all you have to do is open the doors. Of course, if you're working under one of our verandas, you don't even have to do that much!

A chance to get away from everyday life. One of the biggest challenges facing those who work from home is the separation of work from home life. Your home is probably full of distractions, and having a garden office that's dedicated to working and completely removed from the rest of your house could do wonders for your productivity.

Make the most of the space in your garden

Are you running out of space indoors? We think that using a SunSpace Garden Room to create storage space is a genius idea.  If you have a reasonably-sized back garden, your property is already equipped with plenty of potential storage space that you're most likely not using, and the best way to make the most of this outdoor space is to invest in stylish garden structure from SunSpaces. Installing one of our garden rooms will give you a safe and secure storage space that's protected from the elements and actually improves the appearance (and resale value!) of your property.

Why should I invest in a SunSpace rather than a shed?

Our SunSpace Garden Rooms can be easily designed to suit any sized space, so you can make use of awkward or small garden spaces.

If you decide you no longer want to use you SunSpace for storage, you can quickly and easily convert it into a hospitable garden retreat! We have a whole range of accessories that can truly transform your SunSpace, including; heat lamps and remote controlled lighting.

Our SunSpaces are modular, so there's always the option to expand if you find you need extra space!

Won't the contents of the Garden Room be visible?

Don't worry about passers-by being able to see all of your valuable possessions stored away in the garden. We offer a range of different side panel options, including:

  • Clear or Opaque Glass Sliding Doors
  • Clear or Opaque Fixed Glass Walls
  • Fully Opaque Aluminium Walls
